An Introduction

So a good friend of mine suggested I start a blog, and about a week or so ago, I took the time and created an account. I spent a ridiculous amount of time personalizing it, changing colors and templates, etc. etc. Mostly hoping that at some point I'd get inspiration to write something interesting and worthwhile to post as my first blog. You know; something that will capture my audience and make them actually want to come back to read what I might have to say next.
The next thing I knew, a week had gone by, and all I had accomplished was changing my background color several times.

So typical of me.
I realized if I don't post something right away, I'll soon forget about it and leave my blog empty, which, as an argument, could possibly be more intriguing and thought-provoking then a random rambling I'll actually write about. ha ha ha.
I figure I'll just start with an introduction.
I am a wanderer. I like to claim that I'm not lost.
I graduated from the University at Buffalo this past May with a B.S. in Biomedical Science and am currently a non-matriculated student in the EEB Masters program there.(Evolution, Ecology and Behavior) I work in the BURR (Buffalo Underwater Reef Research) lab there, and at most times of the week you can find me conducting DNA extractions, running gels, and doing PCRs. I love working in the lab (when I don't get chemicals in my eye...thats a whole blog entry in itself..!), but I HATE the ecology courses I'm in.... Thats all I'm going to say about my current academic status for now.
I enjoy being outdoors, and I can't stand being cooped up for too long. I like peanut butter and fluff sandwiches, eating frozen peas, and making muffins.
I used to write like a fanatic, then I got to college and found that creative writing, literature and english were torture.
I am happiest when I am spending time with my family and cousins; Galuckis, Rogers, Mellases, Zulias, and Constantines ;).....
I love to travel, and have been to Canada, Greece, Albania, Turkey, England, and Norway. Next up: Australia!
I sing/play the piano and guitar at talent shows, coffee houses, bars, and gigs in the area. I also play violin either as a fiddler on the roof, or in a symphony orchestra--all provided I have the time.
I only own colored socks.
Three (of many!!) things on my bucket list is go to the Hot Air Balloon festival in New Mexico and ride in a balloon, hold a koala in Australia, and climb Half-Dome in Yosemite.
I guess I could keep going, but I think this has been painful enough to read. I'll end here by just saying GO BUFFALO as I am an avid Buffalo Bills (and Sabres) fan.

  1. I find your blog both enlightening into the world of peanut butter and also frightening at the intensity of your desire to hold a koala. I wish you all the best in your ventures, except that one, of course.

  2. I object to the fact that you did not include the Constantine's in family that you enjoy hanging out with, lol. I started a blog in college, it only lasted a year at most... hopefully you will have better luck than me! haha love you!
