This comic was in the Sunday paper last week. I laughed for way too long over it.
The past few weeks have found me incredibly busy, and I have saved this post as a draft for a ridiculously long time. Now, finally I am posting this, when I probably should be studying for my Advanced Ecology exam coming up, or the GREs...Heaven help me.
Last Friday I had an amazing opportunity to record a song (for free!) at the Pro Music Center in Williamsville.
I am part of the Just Plain Folks chapter in Buffalo. We're a group of adults and young adults who get together, play at coffee shops, bars, cafes, and other places in the community; ice cream stands, colleges, etc. We also organize events such as "Jam for Cans" fundraiser, speaker series, music workshops, etc.

Anyways, we had a meeting at a local recording studio and got the chance to record something! I was like a happy kid on Christmas morning. I remember being younger, watching something like the Disney channel and seeing someone recording songs with those huge headphones and expensive microphones and thinking,"someday I want to do that!"
It only took me 22 years.
But I finally got the chance, and it was fantastic! I was able to record a song I wrote on the piano, and, just like I'd always wanted, I sang the lyrics with those big headphones and into the super expensive mic.
It was a great experience, and I'm hoping to go back and lay a couple more tracks down.
Below are some video clips of when I played at an outdoor event this past September. Two of my favorite songs to play!
